all music files are still there
all music files are still there
What version did you upgrade from?
upgrade from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1
Is that literally what it says…or does it actually say that your database is corrupt, and to reformat the drive?
If it’s the latter, your drive is fine. It’s the DATABASE that’s corrupt. There’s no need to format your drive if a file on it is corrupt. Bad wording from Denon, but I’m surprised how many people seem to misread it.
Assuming you do take and keep regular backups of your important data, just replace the database files with the ones you’ve backed up.
The files are still on the drive you imported them to engine software from, it’s your database. Is it possible you ejected the drive without actually ejecting properly? It’s happened to me also. It’s important to back up your library often and if you use an external drive to eject property. One of my drives doesn’t have the right click eject drive option and I just unplugged it thinking it was safe seeing how I wasn’t working on engine or had it open at the time. So now I shut down my laptop and wait for the blinking light to go off before I remove my music external drive. I try to have my external drive setup exactly like I want engine to read it when I import, so I drag and drop my folder and it goes to work making a main folder and sub folders, even playlist order is organized on the external. Also if you can, keep a rekordbox xml backup or Serato! Hope this helps! Have a great day
