The Crucial X6 2TB SSD formatted with exFAT works well for me. But exFAT is a slower file system, so you won’t get the performance of APFS. It’s small, 2.72 x 0.43 x 2.52 inches; $136 on Prime Day. There are also 500MB, 1TB and 4TB options. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FSNKNSV

Hi All,

I installed an internal hardrive to the prime 4 and the transfer speed was rapid. 250 gig in 20 mins.

Its the future. I wont be needing those sticks!

I am having this issue. I have a brand new 512gb USB, 2.0 and started transferring 3500 tracks from my engine library last night & it’s still nowhere near completed.

I am using a 2019 MacBook Air with 8gb RAM. Have checked & all processing speeds / memory are fine.

Is it the pen drive? Does it need to be a higher spec?

Yeah you need at least USB3.0, 2.0 is woeful.

Thanks. Yeah, just tried it with a smaller capacity USB (which won’t take all of the library) but which is a 3.0 & can see the difference straight away!

I do feel I’ve been at the task of sorting out my engine library, organising play lists & getting in on external drives, for days…. :frowning:

Haha yep it’s definitely a time consuming pastime the old DJ Library management. The 3.0 should be way quicker.

If you have a device that supports internal SSD it’s a worthwhile investment too, that speeds up the export to hyper speed levels with the correct USB cable.

That’s my next plan I think, try an SSD. Don’t have a port for it in my MacBook Air but I have an old MacBook Pro (which has its own issues :joy:) but looks like it has an SSD slot.

I feel like a :t_rex:

What Denon device are you using? The SC players and Prime 2/4 all have a SATA slot underneath so you can install an SSD on them then update your music from your laptop to the player

The SC6000’s. You’re right, they do have an SSD slot
