Prime GO+ - Touch screen died after update release

Hi. After 4.3.2 update release, my screen does not respond to any tap. Can’t boot up when power off and can’t do anything when power on. Update just doesn’t press.

Any ways to update standalone controller without touch screen? Any button combinations?

Try installing by copying it to the root of a USB, pop it in, hold the LOAD LEFT + LOAD RIGHT button that’s right by the scroll wheel. Then press power on. Hold the load buttons until you see the update screen.

It showed Engine DJ with chip icon at the bottom. Lights not glowing (besides BANK buttons). Nothing goes next.

Is everything okay with it?

You put your computer USB with your latest Prime Go + firmware (4.3.2) and do that procedure. It should reload the firmware from the computer. If you see the icon of a computer chip then it’s waiting for the firmware.

Download from Desktop and OS Downloads + Manuals | Engine DJ

Just make sure it’s not the Prime Go MK1 firmware but I’d like to think the hardware would know the difference but you never know.

You can also roll back if you think a previous version worked okay before. I’d say try the latest again.

[edited for computer instructions]

It seems my Prime GO+ stuck at loading USB stick or something. Is it safe to power off?

Hey @DJ_Ref0x When in this state you need to connect to a laptop via USB cable and update using the installers here Desktop and OS Downloads + Manuals | Engine DJ

See method 2 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EebExt6W30o

Use LOAD LEFT + LOAD RIGHT + Power on to get into update mode without using the screen

Please make sure a power supply is connected when updating.

It helped, I did an update to 4.3.2 but touch screen still doesn’t work. How can I do factory reset without using screen?

Okay thanks @DJ_Ref0x - Would you mind raising a support ticket here? Thanks!

Submitted. I believe it’s just enough to do factory reset somehow. Had the same issue on SC6000

Support said they can’t do anything and I should fix it in the service, which is not available in my country and I can’t send it back.

There is no way the device would break by itself for just being on the shelf and suddenly the touch screen died the day update released.

Guys, any idea what to do? I can’t believe Denon does not have ability to do factory reset with buttons while almost any device has this thing aboard.

Maybe the new OS patch would add something like this?

It’s pure black magic - I just powered on GO+ without power cable. I did this before several times but nothing happened before. It worked…

It’s interesting I got logged off the account from the device and it started working for me. I did factory reset later and everything works well for me.

If it happened with you - try logging off the device from the Engine website and restart GO+ with/without power cables.

Glad things worked out for you.

However, I don’t think there’s a causal relationship between the update and the problem you encountered, nor between the restart of your touchscreen and the disconnection from your account.

It seems more like a coincidence.

The most logical explanation, in my opinion, is more of an internal hardware cause, such as a poor connection of the touchscreen cable.

Probably, due to frequent handling of your device, bumps or vibrations must create a poor contact on this internal connector.

If I were you, I would expect to encounter the problem again, and if I can’t return the product to a repair center, have your unit inspected by a qualified electronics repair technician.
