I opened a support ticket 3 days ago with no reply so lemmie try here…
cross fader when slid over to deck one, the audio on deck one cuts in & out, seems to be sensitive to being pushed down, pulling up on it bring the audio back at full volume, when audio is cut out its at around 20%
I used blue tape to keep the fader from going all the way over to the left which keeps it from cutting out since the problem is mainly at the end of the fader stroke.
Backstory: I’ve never performed on this unit so no hard fader use, I use this PrimeGo for wedding ceremonies mainly playlisting prelude and fading between processional tracks so its hard for me to believe that fader is shot already.
The X-fader can be disabled in software config and not used, which is handy, I did this when mine failed, so I could still play shows without it.
mine failed the first time while it was under warranty. I got it repaired under warranty. I wasn’t getting any joy with online support tickets, I had to take it back to where I purchased it and get them to send it to a DENON service centre, so I didn’t have the unit for a while, while it was being repaired.
It worked fine for a year or so and failed again, this time out of warranty.
So I replaced it with an innofader, as otherwise I’ve been happy with the PRIME GO. The innofader install is a bit involved on this unit as the whole thing needs to be disassembled. So far so good with innofader, but only had it a couple of weeks…
Thanks for the reply!
I think I will go the disable route then order me an Innofader.
Did you use the “Scott Fun Kat Tron” video to aid your install?
Looks hella intensive!
Denon faders are weak, especially the crossfader, which is used a lot for performance. In some cases, some people replace all the faders with more resistant models with dust protection similar to those used by Pioneer.
