I have a Prime GO, and probably I will buy an MPC Live 2, to connect them using the master out of the Live 2 into the aux in of the Prime GO. Before buying, I need to clarify a number of points.
I post here 2 questions, concerning Ableton Link sync between the two devices:
-
If I connect the two devices using an ethernet cable (wifi disabled on both devices), the syncronization via Ableton Link is automatic, or do I need to enable it in the settings every time I boot the devices? I mean, once configured for the first time, do I need to specify manually that I want to sync the two devices, or they recognize automatically?

Same but using WiFi, I expect to be exactly the same as using ethernet, am I right?
Hello @ElTitoFranki
I have similar setting (Denon and AKAI), but my is SC Live 4 and AKAI Force.
Every time the gear boots up, the settings are there, if You save them.
Denon gear has Save settings button in the device utility.
For AKAI - If you save your project with all the wifi or lan settings, it will recall these when you load the project.
At least it is that at my force.
I hope that helped you a bit.

Many thanks @NoiseRiser , yes your comment helped me, for sure!
Although the Force is not the same as the Live2, I think they have many similarities software-wise, I suspect this sync thingie should be one of them.

Also, the AUX runs though an extra channel that skips out the mixer within the Prime Go.
Basically the AUX is fed into the back and has a volume control on the front. That’s it. There’s no FX, gain or EQ.
It’s workable for dropping tracks off a phone or playing music if you need to switch modes but it’s not advanced.

Well, the volume control of the aux is also in the back, but yes you are correct. 9 think it’s also in the record circuit, right? I mean, if I want to record a session, the aux is also recorded
The AUX is controlled in the front (next to the headphone mix control). It’s much easier to get to.
From memory, the AUX isn’t recorded. It doesn’t pass though Engine OS on this device but maybe someone can confirm? I’ve never tried it but I know the routing of audio is very different on this unit. It’s more of an emergency connection for another music player rather than a full performance option and while it still works for performance, it’s not very flexible with FX etc.
Yeah you are right, the aux volume is in the front, tomorrow I will check if the aux gets recorded, I think it is
