I’ve been trying Nanoleaf Shapes and have a question.
When I connect Prime 4+ to Nanoleaf’s wifi (a network called Shapes) everything works properly, but I can’t access the internet, so online services are inaccessible.
After connecting and activating the lights I tried to change the wifi network to another with internet in the controller, but immediately Nanoleaf stops responding.
When I connect Prime 4+ to Nanoleaf’s wifi, I see the schematic in the UI Engine Lighting section of prime 4+ but the authorization button never appeared. And yet it stays in sync.
Have I done something wrong, or am I missing something?
The initial setup was done using the mobile app and associated controller code, using a NOT 5G wifi network as specified in the instructions.
My guess is you need to connect the Nanoleaf to your WiFi network, that probably can be done with the app.
A lot firms (webcams/lights) don’t recommend 5G WiFi network, cause the range is normally a lot less than 2.4G. If your internet router only has 5G try it anyway…
You mean that instead of connecting Prime 4+ to the Nanoleaf network, it is Nanoleaf that connects to the Wi-Fi network. I’ll try to look at the options of the App to see if I find something.
There was a permissions error in the mobile app in the first configuration.
Now Nanoleaf is connected to the wireless network and Prime 4+ is connected to the same network.
The problem was that in the first configuration I connected to the wifi “Shapes” using the mobile settings directly.
You have to press the settings button that the application shows you to change wireless network. And press the “settings” button again in the application to reconnect to the network for which you have entered the password.
In this way, the “Shapes” network disappears and Nanoleaf is integrated into the home Wi-Fi network. Now Prime 4+ has network connectivity with the Internet again and online services can be used, and connected without problem to synchronize the Nanoleaf lights.
