Prime 4+ review after a year of use

Let’s talk about engine hardware. I’ve tested a lot about it and wanted to share my opinions with you. i will be talking only about problems and questions:

1.Why is faders so bad? like i can someday rip them off. bad quality or its just my personal hardware problem?

2.Soundcloud have bad quality. I know you fixed it, but first it was so bad that i have to go to apple music.

3.Rgb waveform? i love rgb waveform but i dont have it on prime4.

4.stem update? when you will be updating stems for it?

5.sometimes it cant boot normally. like it boots but streaming services dont work. i can fix it with just rebooting system but.

6.export from engine dj to serato or rekordbox. when i will be playing on pioneer i want my library into rekordbox but i dont want to use rekordbox, because i dont like this program.

7.when you will integrate waveforms with bluetooth. like in omnis-duo you can connect your phone via bluetooth and after loading waveform you can play it normally. will you make this feature available?

thats all for now. but i think i will find some after using it again. thank you!

That’s neither a review nor a test, just a list of complaints and requests, all of them which are already known and have their corresponding topics here.

I dont understand what you guys are doing to the faders. I have used my prime 4+ for over two years now and the faders are rock solid. I have not been gentle on them.

Is there different batches maybe and some are bad?

I don’t either. My OG Prime 4 is getting on for six years old now.

No snapped faders, no buttons pushed inside. The paint on the mixer panel is patchy, as it’s probably only half a micron thick, but that’s just visual.

Mine didn’t snap but one of them started to bleed after 2 years

Tiktok Techno fader slams all day long

To be fair, the P4 faders never felt great as many users can confirm. They are certainly on the lower quality, but they should not snap that easily - mine work perfectly fine after 2 years. It was actually my CF which I needed to modify (@DjAj has a great tutorial somewhere here) as it had contact issues and caused glitches with my CF assign switches.

I’ve had quite a few mixers over the last 30 years. The only other one I had with fader bleed was a Phonic MRT-60

This sounds like a Pioneer problem. And I don’t know why Pioneer players still cannot read EngineDJ prepared USB sticks. But I don’t think it’s a Engine problem.

The way I understand this functionality works on the OmnisDuo that you first record a audio stream over Bluetooth and you can play it normally after. There is a workaround for this. Find a local audio recording app for your phone or tablet. Record the audio and save it on dropbox. After which you can play the audio normally on any Engine device. Even the devices which doesn’t support Bluetooth. As a plus, you have now saved your recording on Dropbox and are able to use it over and over again where with the Omniscyou need te stream record your audio again and again.

6.export from engine dj to serato or rekordbox. when i will be playing on pioneer i want my library into rekordbox but i dont want to use rekordbox, because i dont like this program.

Use Lexicon. The free version will let you migrate between all the main library formats.
