I would go for a full featured setup instead of all in one. The mixer has way more flexibility in terms of in/outs. I also like bigger jog wheels. But that is only my opinion and taste.
Personally, I much prefer separate products (in the event of a major problem with individual products, it is easier to troubleshoot!) and moreover, you will have much more possibility with the mix and the readers!
I bought my P4 in 2019 and unfortunately the SC6000s were not yet announced and marketed, otherwise I would have bought an SC6000M set and an X1850.
To summarize :
If you have the budget, go for a set, taking into account that the feeling, ergonomics and size suit you “product / user”.
If you don’t have the budget the P4 is very good and constantly evolving!
Stay with Pioneer Denon, there is no such effect as Pioneer and you will be disappointed whether you choose Prime 4 to which you can now connect the LC 6000 or buy SC 6000 decks plus X1850 mixer.
If you don’t mind the extra money and work involved with X/SC setup then there’s no doubt you have a much more flexible setup and also you have a built in back up if something happens to one of your players - Dual Layers is a beautiful thing. Most importantly to me though is that I just absolutely love the the SC player’s layout. It’s intuitive and inspiring to me! I do NOT like the Nexus/X Style Mixers. They do not inspire me. lol I went with an S11 Mixer and 100% love my setup. It’s my fav of all time. : ) Good luck either way!
Thanks for the comments! I currently have CDJ3000 with V10 mixer but because my health has got bad im not able to mix so much anymore so cheaper setup would be better and get some money.
Sounds like it will SC6000 with X1850. Only reason i want 1850 is the quantize fxs and that Engine Lighting will be nice for videos. I also have akai force that will link nicely with denons right?
I really like my SC6000M + X1850 setup. Just as others mentioned already, the FX on X1850 are not worth it. The sweep effects are very good though… Also as they have got a separate knob underneath the filter. The lights are triggered by the players, not the mixer so you could think about keep the v10 and just get some players
I decided to go with pair SC6000 and X1850. Even tho V10 is awesome i just cant afford to keep it anymore, not worth to keep 3K mixer just because reverb sounds better And no quantize effects if i would stick with that…
Thanks for the comments. Well be part of denon family soon
