Hello, i recently bought a Prime 4+ in the hope it would be a upgrade to my pioneer flx4.
The controller itself is fine but i can not manage my music collection in any way.
I have tried so many combinations now, but neither the “time added” metadata nor the art cover is ever both correct at the same time.
I have tried the stick that i prepare on my pc, in both exFAT and fat32 format.
I first tried to get used to engine dj because everyone says thats the prefered software for my prime 4+. Fine, i exported all my music from rekordbox via xml to engine dj. All playlists are there, great, all songs, even shows me on which drive. Fire. The songs are only historically grouped by day, not by minute. Means alls songs added on the same day have the same time, compared to rekordbox where the newer you added something, the higher it is saved. Okay im fine with that as well(already big minus). Then i exported it via the sync manager to my stick. Rejected it, and pluged into my prime 4.
Now it says “rekordbox library founds”. What?? I newly formated it and only had engine dj open?? Okay maybe engine dj doesnt have its own format. I looked at the songs, no cover art. And not even the date added for the day is correct, Just random.
Then i formated it from fat32 to exFat, tried the same. All the same behavior.
Then i formated new, used rekordbox to manage my Collection. And stuck into my controller again, and see there. All cover arts are there!! But the date is again just random, and yes i sorted by date within the controller.
So my questions:
-
why is rekordbox software (both rekordbox 6.8.5 and the newest rekordbox 7 version) better suited for the denon? Are you guys using any other software?
-
Why can i not get both the date, and album cover get to work?
The concept of metadata and reading it properly shouldnt be something that is buggy when i buy somethign that is worth a car? Im very disappointed, i hope somebody can help me because i dont think anyone would wanna buy my controller… and i start to learn why.
Best Regards
