Prime 4 Broken View Button

Hi all,

I’ve got a P4 which i believe is just within warranty, i bought it on July 27th 2021. I wouldn’t say i’m particularly heavy handed but the view button has broken and is pushed in, meaning i cant press it (i can press the micro switch with something plastic).

Any advice on warranty repairs? i.e. how long the turnaround is? I cant afford to be without it for ages as i’ll lose so much work and ive seen people waiting weeks and/or months.

Alternatively, could i pop the mixer section faceplate off and fix it myself? I assume i’d need a replacement button fascia, how is it normally attached?

Anyone whos opened one up and can give me some information would be hugely appreciated!

Hello, I am interested too how the faceplate how can be remove for other reason. As far as i know prime 4 bolts are bottom but the faceplate can be removed from the top?

Big hammer.

Big chisel.

Small cross head screwdrivers.

Anti static bracelet.

Big and small pliers .

A bucketful of luck.

A shedful of paitence.

That should get you in it…

So what happened here? Exact same thing happened to me last night mid-gig, and I’ve got another gig on Tuesday. :frowning:

What happens when you unscrew the faceplate?

unfortunately you have to disassemble all the boards to get to the plastic keys! you have to act internally

Ah ok fair enough.

@bmjdotnet i would say sending for repair is your best bet and buying a cheap backup controller for your gigs in the meantime. The Numark Mixtrack pro FX is £180 and the platters/pitch faders feel similar to the Prime series.

if not you can do like me! after 4 I also got mixstream pro and sc4 live! after that you have no more problems! :rofl:
