Possible BPM ranges

Hey there

I’m wondering if it’s possible to have an update for a wider area of BPM ranges?

I mostly play Hitech music, which is in the range of about 170 - 240 BPM. It’s a bit annoying, that all of those tracks are displayed with half of their real BPM.

Is it possible to have this updated with the next release? Bet it can’t be too hard

Thanks in advance! Marius

Hello @Thelastmuri Welcome to the forum.

I also play higher tempo music in about same range. My tracks mostly are analysed correctly. I use the highest analysis settings (98-195).

What software do you use for preparation? Since in my resident club (and pretty much all other clubs) are using pioneer CDJs, I use rekordbox.

Many songs are displayed with half of their bpm. Furthermore I sometimes play psydub. So many songs will mix up together.

It’s not too much of a problem, but still it seems very easily avoidable.

I use Engine dj, but for CDJ’s I use Rekordbox. When using Engine dj, You need to keep in mind, that when transferring music from rekordbox to engine, You need to Re-analyse the tracks, so instead of reading the bpm value, engine will use the new algorithm to detect bpm. And it is very accurate.

I do agree it could be a little wider.

Question though, can i set say the slower range and analyse all my slower stuff, then change the range and do say DnB? or does the whole library have to be on a single range?

I do change the range, depending on the genre, I want to analyse.

Where do you know from that the song is 240 BPM and not 120 with 32th notes? So why bother and not take it as 85 - 120 BPM? It’s easier to mix and match with slower songs anyways…

But quantise and fx will not be on time. And Yes, I know my music. I know when it is 120 and when it’s 240.

If you wanted to get Denon to consider adding more BPM ranges, there’s a forum form that you can fill out in the feature request section.

Once there, the idea can be voted on by forum members, using one of their 10 forum votes.

Those votes are added up “live” unlike if people just inanely comment with “+1” etc

Some high scoring / highly votes for ideas might get picked up by the developers
