So I bought lexicon, worked on cleaning lost tracks, removed duplicates and what I was able to do. When I exported back to engine os, I noticed that 8 or 9 playlists were gone. Tried to restore database but it was the same. Got a backup drive, synced back to engine and every playlist was there. removed the drive and playlists disappeared. Now I can’t find a way to get the playlists… decided to uninstall lexicon but the problem persists. any ideas to try? should I completely wipe out my collection and start from scratch? would it work by syncing all the info from my usb drive?
I think it’s better/wiser to ask @Christiaan on his Discord or forum to be sure.
Lexicon is a nice software, it manages to have many useful functions for managing the library, but unfortunately sometimes it messes up the database. I used it for a month, I only did an export from Lexicon to Engine DJ, I had checked visually and everything seemed fine. After a few months I realized that I have some “ghost” playlists that I don’t see on the computer (EDJ Desktop) or even on the console (EOS). However, I see those playlists in the playlist list during the Sync manager, and there is no way to delete them unless you intervene directly on the database.
Obviously I had made backup copies, but when I realized this bad joke, my copies had become obsolete so I didn’t perform the restore.
Therefore… you have to be very careful with third-party software, especially when they write to our database.
I’ve been chatting with him on discuss.lexicon but we haven’t found the cause
Yeah, pretty similar to my issue. Now I have no idea of how to fix this
