Playing wrong tempo and key

Hi I’m new to the prime series. Been a big fan of them. I’ve had a mcx8000 for years and love it! But I finally decided to upgrade. I got a pair of sc5000S and an x1850 mixer. Both are on 1.6.1 software… but I’m having issues. One of my players (set up as deck 2) is playing music back at a slower tempo and pitch shifting to wrong key. All settings are the same… both screens will say (for example) 125 with a key of 8A. But I have to take off key sync then slow down deck 1 to 115 to have them beat match ! Anyone know what’s going on here… ? And while I’m at it… my other player won’t connect to the wifi. Says it’s disabled… so basically my first impressions of this prime series is fleeting. Ha :laughing:can anyone help. Thanks

Did you test with the same track or tried Instant Double? If it’s another track, it’s probably not analyzed correctly.

Maybe shoot a video for us to show what’s happening?!

Hi @TparT any news for us?

Here’s what was going on. After calling and talking to support it sounds like it’s most likely a hardware problem!

Not from how you described it here and the video tells us nothing unfortunately.

Put the same track on both players, faders down. Let us hear the track from player A then player B, not at the same time. Show the song names and the bpm and key info on screens.

Here’s a longer version of that video. If you can tell me what else it might be that would be great. You can hear how it instantly isn’t at the same tempo when I put the songs together. And when switching the crossfader. You can hear the difference in key even tho both screens relay the same information. Not until I change deck one to 113 can I get them to beat match and key match. And it’s not an isolated song. It does it with every song. All settings are the same. I’ve reloaded firmware. And I’ve tried different USBs. Any other ideas would be helpful! Thanks

Damn, do you normally play with all three EQ knobs turned to max like that?!

:astonished:

Ha no… Sure don’t! At gigs I plug into a external mixer EQ up and sound check my levels. Then use my mixer. Thanks for the super helpful comment tho! Didn’t have much to do with the issue at hand.

That’s awful, it’s like the deck is playing stupidly slow!

Have you done full factory reset?

Hah I know right! Yeah I have. Reloaded all firmware updates. Nothing I can do on the software side seems to fix the issue… pretty lame!

If that right player also cannot connect to wi-fi it’s clear now it is a “lemon”. If all songs from it are sounding like that (slowed down) then you nothing to think about, return it. But if some songs are playing at normal speed that might point to this being a software issue or media issue
