Pitch (tempo) changes in Standalone Prime don't work while in sync [SOLVED]

hello, I have been hoping for a long time that this problem would be solved over the years, but it has always remained unchanged. If I sync two or more decks, and I want to increase or decrease the tempo, acting on the sliders, sometimes it works and it changes on all decks, but vwery often it does not change, and you have to make huge movements of the slider up and down to be able to act on the tempo. it doesn’t matter if the used slider is the lead deck or other. I hope I was clear, otherwise I will send a video. thanks

Hi, i dont use sync but this is from the manual, which explains about what i believe is called soft takeover of the pitch fader.

To adjust the track’s pitch, move the pitch fader. You can do this only when the deck is not synced. The pitch value in the deck info will change as the pitch is adjusted. When active deck’s pitch fader is moved during playback, the takeover arrows on the inactive deck will light to indicate which direction to move the pitch fader in order to match the active layer’s pitch.

yes, but sometimes it works when synced. I don’t understand what makes it work or not work.

probably where your pitch fader is determines how well it works.

If your pitch fader is close to the synced tempo it will move the tempo up and down, if your pitch fader is nowhere near the synced tempo, you’ll have to move it in the direction of the lit arrow to get it to ground zero. So in essence if you want to use one deck to control speed of multiple tracks, make sure that decks pitch fader is in the right position prior to doing it.

…also likely depends on which deck is “in charge” i.e. if you sync deck B to A then A is the boss, and presumably you could adjust pitch on A and B would follow.

If A is the boss and you move the pitch of B then it probably won’t work because B is following A.

It works fine.

If it didn’t work… and hadn’t worked “for years”, thousands of users would have mentioned it.

It’s just soft take over and practicing with the feature, which works as its intended to

I’ll post some videos

all faders start from zero

It’s “soft take over”

Have a search on the forum for “soft takeover”

Whenever layers or auto-sync are used - soft takeover comes into play - it’s not a fault or a bug, it’s how soft takeover has always worked
