Recently got the new philips hue bridge and my prime go cant find it. Ive tried all the videos and resets. Im at my wits end. And info on the compatibility with the new bridge?
They need to be on the same network.
Depending on how, for example, the Fritz!Box is configured, this can cause problems if the Prime is on the 2.4 GHz band and the bridge is on the 5 GHz band. To be honest, I don’t even know if either of them supports 5 GHz.
I think it’s pushed via UDP, and for that, they absolutely have to be on the same subnet.
So, for example, they should all be on the 192.168.178.xxx networkor something similar… the last three numbers must be different.
This is also the case with ARTNet, another network protocol for transmitting light data.
I had to update about 6 different versions of firmware to get mine to be recognised. Make sure you are on the very latest version, same for the bulbs as well.
I’ve been toying with getting the new Hue Bridge Pro for the last few weeks. I’ve got 25+ Hue lights so wanted better control.
I may sit it out a little longer and see how it goes.
I’ve been following this too. The new Hue Bridge Pro looks great, but connection issues seem pretty common right now. It usually comes down to the network setup; make sure your Prime Go and Hue Bridge are on the same subnet or Wi-Fi band. Also, update the Bridge firmware; that fixed it for a few people I know. Hopefully Philips rolls out better compatibility soon!
