I don’t know how to use this forum, but the best thing that happened was buying new stem features. If new paid or free features for Denon SC Live 4 are added with updates, such as send/return, which sends the first cycle from the master RCA channel to AUX RCA, and then finally transmits it to the master XLR or Jack 6.3 channel. Or God bless it, in extreme cases send/return is enabled when connecting an external additional sound card. Or they will build routing around the second headphone input. The main thing is that this feature is delivered in any form. It is not a pity to pay money for this. Also, return support for people’s favorite keyboards, at least for a fee, this will allow customizing the setup as the DJ wants, and those who do not want to pay for this feature can use keyboards approved by the manufacturer. It would be nice to upgrade the software in general, so that you can stick some gadget into USB to output to a new monitor, expanding the customization capabilities of the device’s screens. Or connect a wired internet and expand streaming services. I’m sure the software can be upgraded to the maximum level. Otherwise, everything is great, I’m almost completely satisfied.
Would this help you achieve what you’re looking for?
I don’t think this is possible even in theory. Hardware audio routing is fixed.
Hello, thanks for the comment. If the hardware part is tightly tied and cannot be manipulated at the level of the sound driver built into the operating system or the sound chip of the controller board, which I still have some doubts about, then the only rational solution is to connect an external sound card via the USB 2.0 protocol to expand this feature. I would also recommend making support for this feature for different sound cards on a paid basis and for those approved by the manufacturer for free. Denon can also release its competitive solution in the form of a USB sound card to expand the capabilities of the DJ controller for such devices. But in order for this solution to be beyond competition, it is necessary not to limit this feature, but to collect analytical data from users connecting different devices, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of different implementations. Of course, you can make a budget solution for the Send Return function using the Jack headphone input and Aux RCA, but we risk facing a choice of either controlling on headphones or the Send Return function. This is better than nothing, considering that any portable USB sound card can compensate for the lack of headphones.
I’m sorry but are you using chat gpt or similar to generate responses?
My thoughts exactly; using an HiVox AI chatbot or something like that. I’ve moved “his” first post to a new topic as it was originally a comment to a topic, but completely off-topic.
No, my native language is Russian, I am in the process of learning English. For now I use Google Translate. Just don’t bombard me with different questions, like why do you use this translator or what are you doing in America if you are from Russia. Short answers to satisfy possible questions: 1) I won a green card in the lottery the second time, and my relatives on my father’s side live here. 2) I work and pay taxes like all Americans. 3) Russian DJs are prone to perfectionism, which encourages us to push the development of this sphere to new levels, I am sure there are many talented people all over the world. 4) why use Google Translate - because.
Reese, thanks for moving my request to a new topic. I’m still just getting used to the forum, and would appreciate a link to the new topic you created or instructions on how to get there. Thanks again!
Don’t let this topic fall without discussion. We need to raise the discussion to a new level so that by the next release of updates we can learn not only fixes, but also new features.
if ableton link could be used as send return with external effectors, it would be cool so far in the topic of abdeton link is not very clear. But return to the sound card of the controller processed by the external effector would be cool to learn as a result. While remembered about paid and free functions, it would be great to make in the new update the ability to set autosync by musical key in the settings, so that every time would not have to do it manually, and to this feature it is necessary to add a hot button from the DJ screen to turn on and off on all decks with the memory of the last key setting on all decks. This will allow you to make a drop at the right moment using loop shortening and tonal change due to the pitch slider. the main thing is that when the pitch is returned, the tempo also returns, otherwise an error was noticed at this point, it can be fixed.
and in stem processing it is noted that transients in vocals are eaten when the rhythm section is turned off. You can turn off the bass, melody but not the rhythm, I think this is a difficult task.
Admins : pleeeeease turn anti-bump back on
what is anti-bump? I’m new here and if you explain to me what it is I’ll be grateful. If I understand correctly, you’re unhappy with something, don’t be shy and write what exactly. I think my ideas mentioned above are more likely to be useful to both developers and users. If you think otherwise, just write.
Hi, if you have a feature request, you can raise it officially using the feature request part of the forum. There is a handy form with pre-rendered questions that you can answer.
The feature will then be posted so people can vote on it, votes don’t always mean something will be considered, but its at least in the open for it to be viewed.
As far as Pasha’s comment goes, he can be quite sarcastic at times, but the overall message will likely that you shouldnt be too pushy with requesting something. We all have things that we think will be useful, and all of us think our own ideas are more important than everyone else’… the reality is they likely aren’t.
New here (?)
Anti-bump is forum feature which many forums have, which, when active on a forum stops a user posting consecutive posts on a thread or topic…. Like your -five- posts in a row on this thread , at one point, just a few minutes apart from each other. It won’t let one user post again until a different user has replied.
If you post something, then a few minutes later you think of something else you’d like to say, you can {EDIT} your original post and add the text you forgot to type originally.
One concise post with all of someone’s opinion or info all in one post, is so much easier to read, and doesn’t “hog” the post, not does it keep pinging everyone’s “there is a new post” notification when actually there’s no real extra conversation, just one person saying more.
Thanks for explaining how it works, regarding the discussion of new features, it’s really helpful. I’ll try to figure it out in my free time.
Pasha, thank you for explaining what this function is and that you can edit your posts without creating new ones, I will definitely use this
