As everybody knows, Denon is developing the possibility of having stems in the Prime 4+ hardware. I suppose they are on the fly stem separation, using the more powerful processor that’s inside Prime 4+. The rest of us, using other Denon harware platforms could be left behind, what’s normal taking in consideration the processing muscle necessary to make real time stem separation with a minimum of quality.
Anyway, I suppose that could be a very interesting feature to have in the Engine-DJ ecosystem, the availability of offline stems. One could generate high quality stems, offline, when preparing the songs using Engine DJ desktop. The stems would then be available to use during mixing on the standalone hardware platforms, after synchronize of libraries between the desktop and standalone, transparently. Even in more powerful hardware platforms like the 4+ that could enable top quality stems separation for DJ’s that do their homework and set preparation in Engine Desktop.
