Now Playing for Prime Go+?

I found out, too late, that because I have a Prime Go+ I don’t have a link cable and therefore can’t use Now Playing 2 for streaming on OBS. I got the Prime Go+ because I wanted standalone, not software on a PC as a middleman, especially for live shows. What are my options to display now playing while still using Engine DJ software and not going back to something like Virtual DJ or Serato?

Surely Now Playing 2 and OBS is “software on a PC” so what’s the difference?

With VDJ for instance you can video stream directly to Twitch (etc) and include track titles without third party tools. I speak from experience.

Maybe you could use a network dongle in the USB port.

You can indeed use a USB to Ethernet dongle with Engine devices that don’t have a LINK port. Of course for the Prime Go+ that means adding a USB hub as well.

Just adding on how to set it up.

Do I plug the ethernet dongle where I’ve got my USB thumb drive with all my music plugged in (3)? Wouldn’t that defeat the point of having a standalone deck? Is that where I’d plug the USB hub in?

OR

Could I plug it into the USB-B port that I’d be using to plug it into my computer (4)?

Side note: My (up-to-date) Engine DJ firmware doesn’t even display a StagelinQ option in Settings. Has anyone actually done this before? Like when I plug in a USB hub and an ethernet dongle and an ethernet cable, will the StagelinQ tab appear in Settings? I’ve been following the Now Playing setup and can’t even get to that part on my deck.

you’re rights, streaming with software at home does put my PC in the middle of the audience, and I’ve used VDJ in the past. I got the Prime Go+ for live gigs, so I don’t need to worry about maintaining my library on a laptop (I’m a tower PC girl), just for my own hardware-heavy setup and peace of mind.

However, since everywhere I look people are saying VDJ and Engine are largely incompatible, AND because I’ve started organizing my music using Engine and would hate to do it twice/use converters back and forth every single time just to get a “now playing” up there, I’m trying to figure out some other solution.

…Are you saying I could just run my music directly from the Prime Go… plugged into USB for VDJ… and it’ll … read what is coming out of the Prime Go? HOLD ON I’m gonna try this, why didn’t I think of this, I feel stoopit

EDIT: No, I tried it, and it’s one or the other, either I use VDJ or the Engine

Something like THIS would do it. It works as a hub and has an RJ45 connection to the computer to use Now Playing 2.

USB to Ethernet dongle works by plugging it into the device , same place where you insert your music usb. I suggest using micro sd card for your music instead of usb, music loads quicker via micro sd than usb. I have SC Live 4 and Now Playing 2 (currently testing v3) so I use the same type of Ethernet dongle for my setup and using a usb hub also helps.

Here is a little diagram for you to help visualize how to do the setup

router ——> usb Ethernet dongle —> usb hub ——> prime go

—> means connects to

ok i’ll try the dongle and report my findings thanks y’all
