Not very diverse

I was joking re Notting Hill Carnival being a small event, having been several times it is anything but small.

Yes I agree it does seem it is geared around house music, I have nothing against house music I play house music in my sets, but there are other genres that in this case Denon/Engine seem to pay less attention to and it is not clear (to me at least why).

Even the recent posts (this week to the time of writing that I have seen) Denon have put on social media are all house music related.

It is not a deal breaker for those of us already in the eco system I guess but, the marketing to attract new customers seems like it needs looking at in my view.

As Denon has been seen as making so called ā€˜prosumer’ products Denon could really play into this Digital DJ tips stream last week was discussing the club scene dying, and most bars/clubs use Pioneer as we know so a perfect oppotunity for Denon to be like ā€˜Don’t spend £££’ on ā€˜club standard’ gear when you can our products which X, Y and Z etc.

Love my Prime, but I primarily play DnB and I’d say I have to adjust the grid more than 50% of the time. Usually it’s just pulling back a beat to the ā€œrealā€ start, but it’s incredibly common for me.

Have you re-analysed your collection since the ā€˜improved downbeat detection’ fix was put in?

I dont mind having to do that as long as the basic BPM is correct.

Yeah, I can’t honestly say it felt like it made much difference for me  Mind you I’m fairly new so maybe it was much worse before!

Like you say though - it’s not too much hassle to shift it back if everything else lines up. Just always in the back of my mind if I’m buying a load of tunes!

I hate prep work on music, I see it as wasted time I could be DJing. So what I do is just edit the grid when I’m actually playing then sync it back to the desktop next time I connect.
