No writing of tags to flac files - Engine 4.5.0 with RANE SYSTEM ONE

Hi there!

I’m quite new to ENGINE DJ / ENGINE OS and have used the RANE SYSTEM ONE for some sessions lately. I do have used the “vintage” DENON DJ MUSIC MANAGER software alongside the DN-HD2500 for a long time.

I am using the Engine DJ 4.5.0 software (dedicated to the RANE SYSTEM ONE) on Windows10 for some days now. Mostly tagging my library. After a while I recognised that the tagging wasn’t written to the (flac) files. Everything is fine on the player (in ENGINE OS) but I woud like to export my files to other platforms and it totally makes sense to me that tags are written to the universal (mp3)tags?!

I’ve seen another, closed, topic in this forum about this. Somebody wrote tagging would be possible when the file isn’t loaded to one of the decks. I don’t load files to the decks while tagging but in my case the tags are unfortunately not written to my flac files. I can’t see the tags in either Traktor or mp3tag.

No I am thinking of doing this work again with a real tag editor like MP3TAG?!?!

Any help or anybody with similar behavior??

How engine manages or doesn’t manage tags is not universal across all file formats. It’s one of the areas for the software to improve.

Hi Robomix, you can use NCH Software (converts CDs to MP3, WAV, FLAC, WMA, AAC and AIFF) and mp3tag for creating/editing tags or covers from your owned CDs for CDJs w/o CD drives. Ensure to keep your purchased CDs. Hope that helps.
