We can dream. Personally I’d love to see a few parts of Traktor brought to Engine DJ. Having just come from 10 years on Traktor, I can say Traktor’s stems separation is waaaay better - best in class, really. Traktor’s beat gridding (even for DnB) is practically flawless, a huge step up from Engine. Also, being able to use Mixed In Key to analyze and push to Traktor is something I’m genuinely missing with Engine DJ, and it’s infernal beat drift. I don’t have time to manually re-grid 18,000 tracks one at a time because Engine can’t read the existing grids. Looking forward to the possibility of seeing aspects of Traktor’s solid performance ported to Engine DJ.
My Z2 just died after 9 years, hence why I’m on Denon now. Such a solid mixer though. A Z2 MK II would have been incredible - we all begged for years! Love my new P4+ but really miss Traktor as my library. Hope to see Traktor stems, track analysis/beat gridding, and effects come to Engine DJ! Truly the best of both worlds.
lol, However I can also do this, my profile shows 2xDenon S5000 (But these have been returned for repair/ never to be seen again) SO are in my account but not in my possession. Just saying.,…
Yes, I don’t have them all anymore! The fact remains that I think I gave enough money to In-Music! Until two weeks ago I still had two Prime 4 Plus, a Denon Prime Go Plus, and the Mixstream Pro Plus! Now I only have the two Prime 4 Plus left, one black and one white, the DJ Go 2 Go, the Akai keyboard, I sold everything else and bought the XDJ AZ.
Indeed, I don’t disagree. I wouldn’t even like to add all the money up that we all spend on such products.
I’ve been year and a half with Prime 4+. I gave up on Engine DJ and I am using VDJ. I does Ok but is no Traktor. I really hope that they bring Traktor in to Prime 4+ I still haven’t been able to get over the lost of Traktor. I haven’t found a DJ software that can do better than Traktor in grids, Sync, library management, GUI, Etc. I tried Serato, Reckord Box, Prime 4+ as a stand alone and VDJ. VDJ is the better of all of them. There is one feature that I really miss from Traktor and is the ability to skip thru the sine wave without loosing Tempo and partition. VDJ only keep the tempo, so you have to be careful when you use it. The rest of the software simply can not do it.
Hopefully we’ll see a Traktor integration soon.
Simply use the beat jump set to a value of 16 or 32 beats to navigate through the track while staying in tempo.
Willing to sell the dead z2 for parts?
I know this a corpo video. But realistically you have a “single throat to choke” when it comes to inMusic, one guy who has a vision and an understanding of the music community & industry as a whole. You can’t say that about AT/Pioneer.
Thanks, good suggestion but still limited. If you decide to jump to the last break after the 1st minute is not very practical. I have tried a lot of work arounds unsuccessfully. I am hoping that integration of Traktor happens as this will fix a lot of this. I am interested in the video recently added to see where are they going with NI. Always open to the conversation may be we can come up with something, thanks again for the suggestion.
Isn’t that what hot cues are designed for? Quickly jumping to a specific part of a track while staying in tempo?
Yeah, but this way you would need your hotcue to be set in advance.
I think what @Jay_Jaxon1 means is that in Traktor you could click the stripe. When you hover over the stripe you would see a vertical line with “+X” next to it, where X is the number of bars this point is further up. Clicking meant the playhead jumped there, but phase and beat was retained.
I didn’t use this that much, and do not miss the feature, but yes, there where time that I used this on really boring parts if a song to skip to the good part. Spur of the moment stuff, without preparation… You know, these occasions where you misread the room and want to shorten the song asap…
