New to the RANE SYSTEM ONE

I recently was introduced to Engine DJ, through my mentor when he had me test out the new RANE SYSTEM ONE! I am thoroughly pleased with what I got to do, I’ve been DJing now over 18 years, and I learned on Vinyl but have adapted with the times. I loved the feel that the RANE SYSTEM ONE gave me, as well as getting to see everything in one space. My mentor isnt a fan of the laptop, so getting to learn the system and it’s benefits was amazing! I really love the fact that I can plug in my external, or use the streaming services. It gives you the old school feel with the use of today’s technological upgrades. I don’t have the RANE SYSTEM ONE Yet, but I do hope to be able to test it out, or future products if presented with the opportunity.

Welcome to the forum @DJProdigy ! Pretty cool that the System One left an impression on you that is strong enough where you took the time to find this community, register for it and make a post sharing your experience.

Many of us started with vinyl ('99 for me) and the idea of not having to be tethered to a computer to perform is why we moved to the Engine Prime standalone devices. I made my choice when the SC5000’s came out nearly a decade ago, and that was shortly after buying the pioneer XDJ-1000.

One thing that testing a product like the System One won’t tell you is the longevity of the product and the ROI (return on investment). From what I can tell, the SC5000’s (a product that came out in 2017) are still receiving feature & bug fix updates. Outside of the Linux (Free and Open Source) Operating System, I don’t know of a single tech product that is supported nine years after release.

That’s real ROI. That’s real value. And currently, that’s the state of Engine Prime.

I’m a software engineer, and this story is a pretty rare one.

Getting a Rane System One is a no-brainer imho if you like moving platters and lots of options to play.

:100: what the fellas said. It‘s build like a tank, and those faders are amazing! Value should also hold well, as it‘s pretty unique on the market and I can‘t imagine AT to counter that soon, it doesn‘t cater to their club standard audience, the REV7 remains pretty niche.
