New Hardware

Not sure what is happening over at In Music but all seems quiet on the hardware front with the exception of the Rane one Mk2. At Namm this year In Music advised they are releasing more products then ever before but silence, more just curiosity as no new information as of yet

Inmusic never ever release any “coming soon…” info.

Instead it’s simply “Introducing our new XYZ-123 which will be in the stores from the end of the month”

That’s then followed by the crying of “oh no that must mean no support for my 3 year old player. bad InMusic, naughty InMusic sob sob” etc, as people forget that even 8 year old Primes (like the SC5 series) are still included in firmware updates.

InMusic is not only denon, rane and akai. So yes, they released a lot of products, but not only Denon. Akai recently released a bunch of new FX plugins, and some time ago 5 synths in collaboration with Native Instruments. Headrush made 2 pedals with Ed Sheeran, Moog released recently 2 new synths, Arkaos released 3 new media servers, and if you visited Prolight and Sound or ISE, you would notice, that they show case their new version of media server software, that they are working on. So inMusic is very busy with their product development. Don’t forget, that Denon is not all that they are. There is much more behind the scenes.

After having done the huge step investing in an MPC X SE (thanks to the sweet easter deal by Thomann), I would love to have these workflows combined between the Denon DJ and Akai world. If the teams work more 2gether on future products, that could be the gamechanger with really awesome stuff. On the hardware side many used components are already identical, so it´s more a software thing to match it.

Welcome to the club :+1:

hard lerning curve, the last few days I was busy absorbing many yt tutorial videos  but still not found the real cool stuff

Good advices are very welcome

You’re asking the wrong guy. I’m old school - I read manuals!

When I bought my first Akai sampler (S900 in 1986) there was no YouTube. Reading the manual was the only way, and it’s something that’s ingrained.

Bear in mind that it shouldn’t matter too much if the tutorials show use with another MPC model. They all have the same underlying system.

Also the public beta of MPC 3 for the desktop should be happening at some point in May.

Yes, please.

I use Akai with Denon since a long time now (2x AKAI Force, and MPC One+). Ask me anything. Learning curve stops being a problem, once you understand the basic workflow, and the idea behind it. But there are many ways to achieve the same results.
