New gear for 2026

Personally, I’ve never had any problems with the circuit board! I was mainly worried about the quality of the faders, which I found to be average.

I owned a Prime 4 for 6 years (bought in mid-July 2019, sold in May 2025), and it had no fader issues. I also have a Prime Go that I only use for wedding ceremonies, and it hasn’t let me down; it’s from February 2020. I bought a Prime 4+ at the end of September 2023 because I thought my P4 would start showing signs of wear (faders), but it hasn’t, even though it was a little over 4 years old!

The P4 was still working perfectly (no crackling, no audio imbalance on the left/right outputs). I was thinking of keeping it as a backup, but since I had the PGO, it was more than enough in case of problems. That’s why I parted ways with my P4 in May 2025. I don’t do more than 30 gigs a year, but I used it at home for 1 to 2 hours, at least 2 to 3 times a week.

Usually, I’m incredibly unlucky; every time I buy equipment, it has defects.

But that wasn’t the case this time. I had to pass it on to someone else!
