I have the cdj’s 3000x just two streets away, and I did compared with denon decks, cdj buttons are stiff as a rock.

Slamming on them makes them loose, probably. ![]()
Sc6000 players honestly are already good enough (since 2017!! - sc5000 facelift). inMusic just needs an entry level player alternative to shift the monopoly. Just like we have a numark all in one , we need a new player. Would buy it immediately. Same for lot of new aspiring DJs that want to put themselves out there with club like gear and a mixer of choice
Long time ago, I photoshopped a single deck, simple player with 6” jog wheel.
Surely entry level is more Numark than Denon, and where are all the mixers to tie these players together?
I would rather they stopped playing the single player battle with AT and concentrated to make the next Prime 4 replacement an absolutely killer machine to corner that market instead.
Oh man that is beautiful! If inMusic released it for sure it’d shake the market. I’d actually prefer one of those instead of my LC6000 so I could have an independent library and waveform view
In fact our devices are very good, but 5 or 6 years old. They need new cpus, more ram, news 24 bits 96/192khz DACs…
DJay pro full compatibility…
It is time Denon
For each their own of course, but I would be seriously disappointed if the SC6000 would be discontinued without successor… An all in one is no good option for me, because I play almost exclusively back to back…
Same for me.
All-in-one units are not really usable when DJs change frequently. In particular, the component quality of all-in-one units is often miserable. A defective fader, potentiometer, or button means total failure. Repairability is abysmal, with downtime lasting several weeks. Even if you repair them yourself, all-in-one units are so poorly designed that it takes an immense amount of time, and the devices have to be completely dismantled. In the professional sector, individual devices will remain the norm.
Nobody holds them back - do it.
True, same to me. We had several All-in-Ones from various manufacturers in the past, and nothing worked for us in the long run.
What I would like to see is an overhaulin´ product refresh of the SC6000 / SC6000Ms to make them future-proof.
The SC6000 doesn’t require an overly massive overhaul. The jogs need some rework, some buttons made more sturdy, but then just the chips and I/O remain, which they already updated on the Live III (which also kept its 7” screen). If they are clever, they also maintain the same outer chassis size and form, which further reduces costs and keeps existing bags and cases compatible, a fresh and positive signal, when compared to the CDJs which was once again changed in size with that silly 3000X “update”.
And yes, I am a big AiO fan and user, but giving up the flagship solo decks would send a very bad signal. Even if they sell in lower volume, I wouldn’t give up in that market segment. Pioneer/AlfaTemu is experiencing significant brand recognition and user satisfaction issues at the moment, and if Akai / Denon / Numark / Rane keep on rolling with upgrading all their units to the next generation (regarding the 2017-2024 as 1st gen and everything from now on as 2nd gen) we could actually manage to snatch back some market share. Also, when the SC5000s came out, Denon was clearly the underdog at that moment and hadn’t a good portfolio in the recent years prior (the SC2900/3900 never got serious attention and the MCX8000 just had a slightly bad 'release timing’). The situation is very different now, with a lot of DJs happily working with Mixstreams, Live and Prime units, often combined with SoundSwitch. Youtube, Streaming and Tiktok help further. There are still chances, to at least became a well-respected N°2 in the big game.
If they would add a bigger screen and i was able to have library amd performance accesible to view at the same time and stems dedicated buttons (of course with on-board stems splitting) i would say SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY before its release!!! That idea with the car dashboard-like screen was briliant. It would be a beautiful controller!
The 10.1” screen size is perfect for me, everything else would make the device too big (or the screen too exposed). AT also didn’t go beyond 10” screens for that reason I bet. Also, you can enable “show library in performance mode” in your Layout settings. I always use this view since 4.0 and I love it, with the playhead marker moved to the most left position, I can still see enough of the waveform, though a bit more zoomout as option wouldn’t hurt.
Dedicated stems buttons have a good chance to come, if we look at the recent Rane gear.
My issue is more that Engine’s Stems itself (themselves?) still sounds… mediocre at best. Since it’s pure software, it still can be improved, of course.
Well after investing into Denon DJ products, 4 SC 5000m’s, 2 SC 5000’s, 2 LC 6000’s, X1850, Prime Go, and returned the Prime Go plus due to not much of a difference between the Prime Go and Prime Go plus, had the Prime 2, fell out of love with it, had the Prime 4 and Prime 4 plus a lot of issues of freezing and screen wave form lag. I will say Denon DJ made a impact of the dj community, now as for having to purchase the “stem” reading, whatever you want to call it for all devices other than the Prime 4 plus is a legit “hustle” that could not be avoided. What stinks is you can only use certain controller’s with Serato DJ Pro. But as for the stand alone controller’s not having the power or chip design to seperate stems on the fly stinks. I have paored up the Prime Go with Djay Pro dj software with an Ipad which works very solid. My request to Denon DJ r&d is to work on designing a stand alone that has the power to seperate stems, maybe a joint venture between Apple and Denon DJ to team up and design the most powerful controller of this decade would be a Godsend. Or maybe boost the power of Engine DJ to somehow someway add “stems” in the hardware. Just a thought.
A vidéo output and a buil-in Sound Switch interface would be welcomed !
The only reason I am still using a computer for gigs
Again for video output the processor would have to be robust enough with a decent graphics card. As it is the units can’t even play multiple channels of audio without glitching. Above that there would need to be video transitions and the abilty to handle a myriad of codecs.
I can’t see it ever happening.
Regarding Sound Switch the option is there to just plug in the dongle. I can’t really see what the disadvantage of that is.
The Micro-DMX dongle is indeed very small and affordable, and the unit has plenty of USB-ports. Having an integrated DMX-Out is purely nice-to-have, but I already happened on the FLX10, so lets just wait and see.
Video-Out is certainly too ambitious. Less in terms of raw CPU power (the Rk3588 has very robust video-out capabilities) but more in terms of adding a rather complex and hence expensive R&D software part into an embedded OS, just to cater for a rather niche group of DJs. While the amount of (potential) SoundSwitch/EngineLighting users probably hovers between 10-20%, anything towards Resolume or similar is more likely sitting at <2%.
But I feel with you, the less computer, the more fun. That’s why I love Engine + SSW so much!
The team really did the best they could with the 11y/o hardware.
I completely agree with you. I understand that if Denon abandons desktop players to focus solely on all-in-one units, it would be their biggest mistake. The only update I’d suggest is a complete engine overhaul, something that allows it to compete directly with Serato, Traktor, or Virtual DJ—this is only for laptop and scratch enthusiasts. I’d also add the pad functionality from the new Akai Live III; that would be amazing.
Okay, we can now focus on the topic of this thread, which is information about a new standalone controller from Denon as a replacement for the Prime 4/+
