Network Ableton link to midi

I was also looking for a simple solution, but unfortunately there isn’t one, as Engine ONLY supports Ableton Link. I’ve now connected my Roland TR-8s via the iPhone app MIDI Link and a USB-C to MIDI adapter.

This works perfectly, although a direct MIDI connection would of course be ideal. However, only the 1850 mixer has that.

But even the competitor’s controllers/standalone units don’t have MIDI inputs/outputs.

Only Traktor Pro supports direct MIDI in/out.

This is, and unfortunately will remain, the domain of mixers.

But are you saying that The Missing Link Junior is not a solution? Why?

What is “The missing Link junior” ??

Ah saw it- Sounds good, but it’s no longer in production; even at $195 it would be far too expensive for me.

Sorry, I see there’s a successor, but $295? No thanks.

My MIDI adapter cost €19 on Amazon, and the app is free—okay, you need an iPhone—but the price difference is huge; I don’t use it often enough to justify the cost.
