When i buyed SC6000 decks from thomann. Both jog wheels had wobble what was not normal confirmed by Denon/inmusic support. So i send them back thomann for repair and they go from there to denon or inmusic repair service idk. Then i wait 3 months to get them back with note saying no issues found even tho i had screenshots from denon support saying that its not normal. So i used decks for some time because not going to wait another 3-4months without gear. Then other deck jog wheel started to have more problems it didnt do back spin anymore and sounded really bad. At that point i decided to send them for repair again. Took 2 months this time to get them back both jog wheels replaced still wobble but not as bad it was and the jog wheel was actually spinning BUT other deck jog wheel had massive dent on it. Like someone dropped screwdriver from roof to that jog wheel plate… like how the hell you going to send me back deck with massive dent on it??? So once again i contact thomann for repair and they asked full photos how it was shipped so it could not happen because that. Shipping was confirmed good and dent was not because that. So deck has been at repair place now for 6 MONTHS!!
2 months ago i got message from thomann: Hello,
We are contacting you regarding: Denon DJ SC6000 Prime.
We would like to inform you that we have asked the manufacturer’s technical support service for an update on the repair of the item, and they have informed us that they have the spare part needed to complete the repair and will receive it within two weeks. As soon as the spare parts are available, the problem will be treated as a top priority and will be repaired as soon as possible.
We thank you for your patience during this time.
This was 2 months ago!
Now last week i got message from thomann: we have been waiting for the spare part to arrive to complete the repair of the product.
Unfortunately, despite several inquiries, we have not received information about the delivery schedule for the spare part.
So repair service dont even reply back to thomann anymore and im stuck with one player.
Never had this bad experince with any product i have ever owned. In total havent had my full setup for 12 months
But the thing is they don’t even reply emails anymore what is going on to europe one of the biggest music stores that carry their gear. Thats so awful service. And that they shipped unit with CLEAR problem on it that you can see with your eyes, like how trash that is. Also 12 months without gear is not acceptable specially when you have less than 100h usage time on it
i just watched your original video of the jog wheel issue from your 2022 post. My LC-6000 does the same, but from a usability POV it works as expected. Id never noticed it in use prior to actively pressing the wheel down today.
Yeah there is lot variation, other jog wobbles more than other and new ones i got wobble way less. But the spinning mechanic was fully broken on both decks thats why i had to send them back second time. What a cursed pair of decks. Now my 1 unit just sits in box and never know will i ever get the second unit back.. Feel bad that i didn’t go for prime 4 would been much simpler bet it would been better quality
This is not a great story. I’m not sure how consumer law works at your location but I can tell you something about the UK, if it helps.
In this case the responsibility for selling you a product free of manufacturing defects within warranty for the first 12 months would be Thomman’s since your purchase was directly from them, not InMusic. It’s would be Thomman’s responsibility to resolve it, because you paid them for the product: so they need to replace it or get it fixed it for you. In the UK, it’s often best to pay for large purchases with a credit card because in that case your purchase agreement is with the credit card company so they have the responsibility to ensure you get what you pay for (even if you immediately pay off the credit card debt). You can complain to the credit card company and if they’ll refund your payment, they will chase the vendor to correct their loss and they can apply a lot of pressure.
Again, this is how you do it in the UK, it could be different where you are.
Both my jogs on my SC6000’s are also playing up. I use them every weekend and can’t afford to be without them for 6 months. I don’t use them much, but that doesn’t mean I am happy about it. Far from it!
