Music library

Hey guys,

I’ve had a Denon DJ SC Live 4 for a year now and I kept adding music to Engine DJ manually by dragging each song to it’s folder and then dragging the folder into Engine DJ, however I took a break from DJing for a couple of months now and I just started again but on a new PC. I transfered all my songs from the old PC and got them into Engine on this new one but I also started adding a lot of songs to my music folder.

How can I add this music to Engine without manually looking for each song I added in the folder and dragging and dropping it into engine, because if I try to drag and drop the whole folder it creates duplicates of the same songs. I just want it to add the new ones without duplicating anything and without sitting here for hours looking for each one.

Please reply if you know how to do this.

Thank you in advance!

Are you talking about the desktop application here?

Are you android user or desktop user. Tell me about it so I ca help you.

I have this question as well . I am using Engine on the PC.

I am having a similar issue. The stand alone systems are amazing but sadly the Engine software is not the best when is used as a media asset management. is a lot of manual task, click and drag. Making the software prompt to human error, duplication, etc. To answer your question, what I have done is to have my Media Asset management in I-tunes. (Yes, I know, I am at the mercy of Apple) If anybody knows about a MAM system more than happy to hear sugestions. With I-tunes, you can move playlist and folders but being that is manual you have to be carefull with duplication also. What works for me, I delete the playlist in engine and drop the updated one. This way I make sure that all playlist match. Another advantage is that since I use Itunes as a Media Asset Management (MAM), it allows me to jump thru different systems when needed and my music stays organized. More than happy to provide more detail if needed.

Again a good MAM that is stable and reliable, that also supports iTunes

I am not selling anything because the software is free !

Just a heads up, the last person who aggressively pushed software was banned from the forum… thats some friendly advice, take it or leave it.

Aggressively pushed PAID software. Mixxx is free so nobody is doing this to make money, just to help users.

When they add features to Engine that are missing, there will be no need to use Mixxx or paid softwares for this.

I’ve seen users here reply to (and reopen) 4-5 similar topics with the same rant and yet nobody is threatning them with bans - maybe cut the bovine shaite

This is also for @Reese since he was deleting some posts that mentioned Mixxx as spam

Yes, I did and contemplating to do so again as per flagged posts.

I see no problem in the occasional mention of other products (paid or unpaid), but all the latest posts made by @Pretski are Mixxx commercials tbh.

I don’t think the cost of the product should factor in here, spam is spam regardless isn’t it.

Perhaps they can link to it in their bio so people are free to click if they want to.

You’re preaching to the choir about the ranting, i also believe that should be dealt with but not my job to say what is reasonable or not in context of the forum for that particular subject, ill leave that to Reese.

As I mentioned before, if the software is free and contains the feature/enables requested function that Engine is lacking, you cannot treat is as spam the same way you treat others.

■■■ I read every day about Lexicon, a paid software, and yet those are never deleted!

So the problem is not software but people who post about it???

I find the posts annoying, but if you like them, I will leave them be.
