So, this gets me thinking, it will be great if we can package the stems files of our choice in Engine DJ. It turns out Virtual DJ has that option as explained in the video below. This also allows for use of original studio created stem files in lieu of the more inferior AI files.
Frankly, I do feel like the EDJ programming staff have their hands full at the moment. So, maybe it’s not a good time for a feature request.
It’s always a good time for a feature request. Specially that community will provide further insight in the open debate on the subject and vote for the feature.
I’ve mentioned exactly that on here a while ago. As the separated files are encrypted by the Engine desktop software, presumably that encryption could be applied to files we bring in ourselves. It would also enable mix and match for best quality (i.e. drums from Serato, vocals from VDJ).

I think stems analysis as an add-in / choicemodel (think OpenRouter for LLM) would be brilliant. This would open up opensource additions and EngineDj programmers can focus on core rather than competing on stems (which in my opinion such a small part of djying, but can take a big chunk of programmer resources)

It’s possible, yes. I’ve since got it working with Nuo Stems too, creating a utility that can bulk convert Nuo Stem files to Engine compatible encrypted stems, finds the tracks in the database and install them for use.
I’ve done this for my own interoperability purposes, but by disclosing that it’s possible, I’m rather hoping that InMusic might see the light and provide a way to import third party stems. It wouldn’t require any firmware changes on any devices, as they could encrypt them the same way and it would be seamless. It would be a simple update to Engine DJ.
Given that InMusic have chosen to encrypt the generated stems files, I’m not sure they would be keen on me sharing any details of the implementation.
I’ve said as much on this very forum in the past. Other software can quickly generate higher quality stems that are not locked in any way, so importing these could save a lot of time and give better results.
Yes. Plus, bonus funds for artists and the best quality if studio created stems could be purchased and used.

It would be nice, but generally major artists/labels do not want the component parts of their copyrighted material to be made available - even for paying customers.
Even for DJ exclusive use, too much effort for them to dig out the masters for all the classic tracks and get someone to mix them down to four tracks to sell as stem packs - and in what format? The various progs all use different methods.
i would pay for this!! lol. they need to incorporate 3rd party or improve existing, they have a top market all in one with the crappiest sounding STEMS that are huge right now
Hey, I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of trying to get NUO-Stems onto my Prime 4+, and it seems like you’ve got it working. While I understand your desire to only state that it’s possible, I’d love to discuss some details further as I go through the process of trying to emulate your utility from first principles.
