Check this thread: Guide: How To Run Your Mixstream Pro/Pro+ Off Of A Power Bank
Even if the guide is for a running a Mixstream of a Power Bank the same goes for running it of a USB-c PD power source.
Aaa ok I see it converts to 12v at the adapter. So can I use a standard charger plug ?
I’m not a electrical engineer. I just followed the guide for my setup and it works like a charm!!!
You need to get a usb-c PD to DC 5,5x2,1 cable and use a powerbank that supports 12v and 3A.
I use such a cable to power my SC Live 4 and it works great.
There are as well adapters that have the 12v PD trigger inside, just look what suits you best.
Thanks man . I’ll check it out
The rules are simple:
- Provided PSU Voltage must be same as written on the unit (12V).
- Provided PSU Ampere should‘t be too low, but in terms of many inMusic devices, it is often exaggerated. 3A would mean that in the Mixstream requires 36W during operation, but even with the speakers on, I never measured more than 10-11W, so with some safety margin, any >1.5A PSU works perfectly fine, and usually they are more compact, too. The same applies to the SC Live 4 (measured 13-15W in real use)
Just ensure you don‘t buy the cheapest Alibaba or Temu noname crap.
Oh, and powerbanks with switchable Voltage output, enough Amp, and having a barrel plug cable work beautifully. I use the XTPower 15600 and get up to 4hrs playtime on my Live 4. And unlike internal batteries, it can be easily replaced if needed.
