ths is unusual, maybe someone can advise whats happened or what ive done. ive been using engine with my sc6000s for about 2 years - mostly its been fine.
however, ive just noticed about 6 smartlists i’d created are no longer in my collection root directory, and a few other smartlists have disappeared from within a folder… but all other folders still contain smartlists ive created and are fine.
whats even weirder, when i use sync mgr to update a usb, it still shows the smartlists as existing, but when i try export them , all trax in the smartlists are correctly exported, but the lists themselves are not.. which is sorta what i’d expect if they didnt exist in the first place.
im wondering, have i somehow hidden the lists? can they be unhidden?
i can recreate them, thats easy, but im just wondering why this has happened… i dont really wish to restore a backup, as my library has 75k trax n it’ll take ages, plus, ive lost no actual data.
I tried a lot of troubleshooting, but could never resolve it. I switched to Lexicon DJ and it’s been smooth sailing ever since.
There are a few caveats. I don’t use Engine DJ stems and I do all the prep in Lexicon DJ. I sync to the performance USB drives directly from Lexicon DJ. This process has also made it easy to sync to other software.
I bought an annual license to LDJ with a coupon code from Crossfader. LDJ started offering lifetime plans several months in and I was credited for the remaining time and switched to lifetime. The software is progressing regularly. The owner/developer, @Christiaan, is ever present on the discussion board and responsive.
BTW, when I sync to the EDJ USB I have the Smartlists converted to regular playlists.
