This morning I decided to do a mix on my P4 and thought I’ll double check my profile & settings first.
This is where I took a look at the “About/Update” page and seen this warning note that an update is available even though I’m already there. I updated from 1.6.2 to 2.0.2 over WiFi
BTW, I did a mix anyway and noted nothing amiss, good to now see the elapsed recording time, if it was there before I never spotted it.
I don’t really agree that it can’t be called “cosmetic”. In fact, there are so many bugs with those updates that any user may think that something went wrong during the process, making the update incomplete. Most of us have updated twice, at least once…
I already said “a bit” and yes it needs to be solved, but there are more important issues to be solved.
Furthermore, there is only one release of a version. Otherwise it would be called 2.0.3 …4 …5. Only update with the same version when asked by support. Public releases don’t have sub-builds of the same version.
I have seen this bug since a very long time on one of my SC5000’s. On all other units (SC6000, Prime2, Numark) it’s seldom showing up.
Incorrect. You don’t know how many people have done that.
I certainly haven’t, because after installing a new firmware, I can see on the boot screen which version has installed, then when the unit successfully starts and I can use it, it’s clear to me that nothing has gone wrong.
Yes the unit may incorrectly show that an update is available, but it doesn’t affect operation of the unit.
