Mass Generation / Analysis of Playlist

Hi there,

we have the Prime4+ Controller, 4TB SSD (exFat) which is currently in a High-End PC (Windows) and then shal l be built into the controller afterwards … and we are trying to get 350.000 Titles in roundabout 18.000 folders into a library/playlist.

So, adding the complete folder “Music” with all files in folders below, does start creating a playlist, it creats folders in the list, but these are empty from a certain point on. Example: Folder Albums, starting from A… will create the List of subfolders until Z…but only fills in/analyses folders A and B. Folder C to Z are there, but the Tracks are not inside. And even this takes many hours?

What is going wrong? How do we get this done in a more convenient/fast way, preparing this complete collection to then swap the prepared 4TB SSD into the controller as internal drive, to have a working searchoption on the controller.#

We tried different approaches, but now seeking help since this is a mess

Any help is much appreciated, thank you very much!

Regards, AnBo

Hi, I guess you want you build the hard drive to be used in 4+. Normally you would export data from your harddrive the external drive.

Thing with this is that the controller expect the engine library folder in the root, containing the m.db some where in it (library2 from my head). In the database, which is now in the Music folder under c:\Users'yourname’\Music. So the link to the actual tracks might not befound, if you move the database to the desired location.

I have all my tracks on the USB drive, in different folders, which represent genres. Once connected to a pc and editing them in EDJ, the file structure remains the same. Therefore exporting information from EDJ, doesnot involving copying files, because they exist already on the drive.

Do you need 18.000 playlists? Or could it be aswel one collection in EDJ?
