Mac OS 27 Golden Gate update

Hi Everyone

I wanted to share a quick compatibility report regarding macOS “Golden Gate” Developer Beta 1.

I’ve been running the Dev Beta 1 and tested both Engine DJ Desktop and Serato DJ Pro extensively.

So far, everything appears to be working normally:

  • Engine DJ Desktop launches and operates as expected
  • Library management, analysis, and device syncing all function without issues
  • Serato DJ Pro also runs smoothly with no crashes, audio issues, or performance problems observed
  • Lexicon works no issue either

At this time, I have not encountered any bugs, glitches, or compatibility issues with either application under this macOS beta.

I’ll continue testing and will report back if anything changes as I use it more heavily in real-world DJ sessions.

Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your experience with Golden Gate.

Thanks @Dj_Smore, I’m also on GG/Developer Beta, absolutely no issues. It’s already very stable and EngineDJ works fine here.

I would not recommend 'regular" mac users install a beta of MacOS on their main machine, since you know, beta.

Thanks. It’s macOS 28, expected late 2027, that could cause havoc. Here’s a video by MixMasterG discussing that.

Lol, perhaps a little too dramatically titled.

Hey everyone, just a quick update! After testing Golden Gate beta, Engine DJ worked well for stem rendering, but the problem started in beta 2—when I tried loading tracks to test loops, they wouldn’t load, and I had to restart the app. Serato, on the other hand, didn’t show any issues at all!

Just more of a reason for people to not upgrade until the OS version has been certified by the Engine team. Thanks for the report.

I have said for a few decades now – “(In Tech if you) Live life on the leading edge, you’ll get cut.”

Hey everyone, just a quick update! After testing Golden Gate beta in more depth the issue went away!!

Hey everyone, quick update on macOS Golden Gate Beta 3:

For those using Engine DJ, I can confirm that after updating to Beta 3, everything is working properly again. The issues I was previously having appear to be resolved, and I have not run into any problems with Engine DJ so far.

The only issue I have found is with Logic Pro Session Players, which will mainly affect those who produce music. When I try to add a Drummer Session Player, Logic Pro adds a Bass Session Player instead. When I try to add a Bass Session Player, nothing happens. I have not tested Guitar Session Players yet.

For DJs using Engine DJ, Beta 3 appears to be working great. The only problem I’ve noticed is with Logic Pro’s music production features.
