I gave mine away when I got the SP-1. The cue buttons on the Denon were ropey! The tact switches were shot.
Youâll be lucky if InMusic actually read this forum. Track record says they wonât and will react late. The number of feature requests and issues that have not been addressed for the 6000 Primes over the last 3 years is remarkably ridiculous.
Yep, they definitely never come here, in fact Iâve never seen a single member of the inmusic team visit this forum, post a comment or implement a single feature request posted here \s
Lets put it another way. Itâs hardly clear who is or isnât a moderator. At least there needs to a moderator avatar to start with. Plus with so much white noise on here, itâs hard for anyone new to distinguish what has gone on or what has been resolved. Especially with the amount of open threads.
FWIW, Iâm the only non-staff moderator. The rest are all staff members. All have a âshieldâ behind their forum name.
Are you sure you want me to approve your 3 pending requests? âThey will never be implemented anywayâ
Well the moderator is called Reese and he has âmoderatorâ displayed next to his name, there are also various members of staff who have signatories next to their name to denote who they are, they contribute often (or far more than any other DJ gear related forums) and they generally engage with any issues raised by people to try and resolve.
As far as features go, scroll down the list below and each firmware version release notes are described in detail, with any ânew featuresâ added, both for desktop and OS.
Are you for real?
Yes. For a new user on here, itâs hard to pickup if you donât know what to look for. Until it was pointed out earlier, I didnât know a tiny shield was a moderator icon. Especially on a site that is incetivised for interaction and rewards with badges. Easy for those in the know and even easier for those people to get an attitude on when questioned.
Secondly, Other forums have a much clearer icon system for identify key people without looking for avatars and signatures.
Thirdly, Iâve had posts on here for nearly 90 days without acknowledgement or interaction. It would be nice to know that at least itâs been noted considering the considerable financial investment for premium hardware.
Denon advertises on the Engine DJ site âThe worldâs premier DJ software suite thats Redefining Creativityâ from an end user perspective, it doesnât always feel that way. While understand the development load, I shouldnât have to justify my view here or any other forum when constructive criticism is warranted.
To add context, Iâve had to purchase ATGR apps and Lexicon DJ to manage my collection because the platform doesnât work as it should. Iâm currently $290 out of pocket and spent a â â â â ton of time everytime Engine OS poops itself for no reason. EXFat, not the most stable of formats for database use.
It depends on what you post/kind of feature requests. Thereâs a lot of interaction on some posts, so I donât see it as a problem. Feature requests work as a sugestions, not guidelines for developing.
EXFat and Fat 32 are used on both Pio and Denon Ecosystems.
I have wonder how much of the complaints around Engine being unreliable are just user error. Iâve not yet had an Engine prepped USB crap out on me, but I have had Rekordbox USBs go corrupt and do weird stuff with tags, duplicate listings of tracks or missing tracks, etc. Neither have great sync management though.
You didnât have to spend money on that software, you chose to⌠many people here are using Engine Desktop to manage their music with zero issues.
What you need to be 100% sure of is your own workflow and music files are in perfect order before pinning the problem on the software, simply saying âit doesnât work as it shouldâ isnt exactly helpful.
As said above, the drive format for Engine is exactly the same as the competition, and the same for most devices that use external storage (cameras etc)
I feel some people start to mix things upâŚ

If you feel the need to use Lexicon, ATGR, or any other syncing software, thats probably because you need your library to be compatible with both Denon and Pioneer (and maybe some other stuff). It is not Denons fault that they dont flawlessly support the rekordbox format, thats Pioneer who is trying to lock jts users into their ecosystem. I think Denon is doing its stinking best to be compatible with all sorts of libraries, but they can only so much⌠Its a sad thing there isnt a standard database format for DJ use, and in fact, given all the streaming that is around today its a miracle that a standard format like MP3 survived. So the choice is up to you, and youâll have to accept the downsides of your choice.

FAT32 and exFAT are the only 100% crossplatform filesystems that I know of. NTFS is proprietary windows, APFS is Apple, ext4 is Linux. Reading mostly isnt a problem, but writing is, if you want to maintain 100% data integrity. The fact FAT is so cross compatible is in fact due to it being so bloody simple. Again, not Denons fault⌠Again some obscure forces of brands not working togetherâŚ
There are tons of things about Denon you can whine about, and Ill probably say you are right. But above 2 points are not one of them!
Amen, this is completely the wrong forum to be visiting to complain about lack of cross platform support between DJ Software, given this is the only company at least trying to make something work.
I disagree. Lexicon is more than just a conversion tool.
No single DJ software library manager comes close to it in terms of its capabilities.
I donât even use the conversion bit of it.
I just renewed by sub for a year! Can I get same functionality with freeware sureâŚbut that will require three or four softwaresâŚlexicon is one convenient solutionâŚ
Its powerful!
I agree Lexicon does a lot more, but Rekordbox doesnât give you this functions either. So Lexicons functions are of no relevance when you compare Engine Rekordbox.
In fact, I think itâs easier (quicker) to use Lexicon for Denon gear than for Pioneer, and thatâs due to the very open non encrypted SQLite library format on the USB sticks. The supported format for Rekordbox to import is XML â Rekordbox desktop â USB stick. To write directly to Rekordbox you have to omit the encryption (which lexicon obviously did)
Lets wait and see
Well this thread got hijacked from its original topic again. This time with some non-specific, Iâll-informed scattergun moaning lol
So, how about that new pioneer media player teaser?
Is it serato related ? (For this thread?)
It will work in hid with Serato, yes.
