Absolutely expected theyâre removed and we will most probably see more of it too if newer streaming services are ever added. Well at least on the standard tariff. Itâs just proof that itâs got the labels spooked and theyâre working out how to monetise it. Going premium is the only way and Apple doesnât have the mechanism in place for that yet. Beatport and Beatsource are the ones to watch as theyâre built for DJs, ground-up.
Really itâs just another vote for local files and not relying on the streaming services.
I saw that Apple had added Music to Djay last night and was quite chuffed as it was the one people didnât expect. Admittedly thereâs the links between Algoriddim and Apple anyway but still, it may show thereâs licensing available for the right price as theyâll have to have the licensing in place.
Even if itâs never opened up to other vendors, it shows they do allow private use of their library on DJ software. Not a bad win.
