I’ve always thought the VL 12 looked good, but I find it a real shame that it had cheap plastic buttons. The same buttons that were used on the SC5000/P4/P2, etc.
While this bothers me less on multimedia players, on a turntable it really clashes with the otherwise robust appearance of the turntable.
It’s also a shame that the pitch fader had dead zones and that the tonearm seemed a bit cheap according to reviews. It could have been a real banger if Denon had focused on the quality of these components instead of making questionable design choices to cut costs.
