It didn’t need a laptop, it was a media player itself, built in 40g HDD.
Given everything it did I would say it was head and shoulders above anything else out at that time.
Still not much to replace it, 3u rack mounted aswell, excellent for the mobile jock even if the 40gb got quickly filled.
Mine has a 120gb ssd now.
