I have been fortunate to own a few items made by Denon DJ, and I have enjoyed using the equipment, however I cannot ignore what seems to be a re-occuring theme (in my experience) which other users/fans of other brands have used a means to discredit what Denon DJ has been producing (mainly the prime series).
In short I have needed to have three devices replaced for similar reasons, that being the mother board or main circuit board.
My original prime go needed to be replaced as the board issues were impacting the audio, headphone jack and faders. ( Just for clarity this was not my main device and was used for practice and the occasional smaller gig)
My sc live 4 (that I purchased) was not considered repairable and I accepted a replacement around this time last year, I sent my replacement for a diagnostic due to the screen freezing as it had completely frozen during a gig the randomly started a working two days later but prior to that was unusable after it had frozen, (I note this has been a common issue with this device based on comments I have seen on here.
I do not believe Denon DJ has made an official public statement (if so please let me know) however i am concerned that in the space of three years three devices are no longer fit for purpose (as per the outcome of the diagnostics).
I understand that every company will have issues when releasing new products, however for me at least the boards used in the prime devices it seems present as being not as durable as they should be especially as the Prime Go and SC Live 4 are not cheap units.
This not to bash Denon but simply to highlight an area of weakness in the build quality and something that is hopefully addressed in future products.
I have decided not to accept a replacement sc live 4 as I no longer have confidence in the product.
Denon please take your time and build your devices properly, there is no point making a great product on paper, selling it £££ less than the competition only for it to become useless after a few months.
