was prompted to update, did it over wifi, and now it constantly goes into reboot loops. Can queue a track, and play it for a minute or so and then everything freezes and it restarts. sometimes it has both the logo splash screen and detail screen overlayed with each other, but generally the platter doesn’t respond and the touchscreen freezes. Totally unusable! It has only ever let me down once with a random restart mid track in the past, but is there something particularly buggy with this latest update? Going straight into the firmware section from the settings just gives me the icon and freezes.
I’m assuming i’ll need to reinstall an older version from a computer? Is it better to go back to 3.4.0 and avoid 4.x.x for now? Frustrating as I had to leave the player where I was so I can’t do anything until I’m reunited with it in a month, and I won’t have much time then to get the stupid thing working!
thanks, should have mentioned I tried that from the internal menu, and had to relink Tidal and my denondj account etc, but it didn’t solve the restarts issue. I didn’t try the hardware reset using that button combo so i’ll give that a go when I can. thanks!
My SC5000M updated no problem. I did it without any media attached and plugged into the ethernet/network (not over WiFi) Also, I updated my tracks database with Engine DJ on the PC before plugging it into the USB. Plain sailing, all good!
Yes indeed, I had the same problem with my SC5000, this killed my player and naver came back from Denon service department.
However I have since heard that the Music Data base can also cause tgis to happen.
Have you tried with all your music removed, to reboot the system?
If that works I would then go back to OS 3.30 or 3.4 As the problem only happened once I updated to 4.0
