Issue with my library

Hello everyone,

When I open Engine DJ, I notice that all my playlists have disappeared . I only have my imports from today, but when I connect my USB key to my PC, all my playlists reappear ??

Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem ?

You removed the Key, i Have the same thing w/ my 128gb sd, it makes sense, once you remove the drive all the files disapear unless you have it stored to dropbox/ localy on you Computer, completely normal unless you have the files stored on your computer’s internal drive or on Dropbox now if you have it stored and eater, those two places different story, that is actually a problem, but if it’s just stored on your USB key is not a problem at all

Tanks for your answer , i had all on my computer drive but suddenly all disappear and once i plug my usb all reappear . I think i can just modifier on my usb plus on a gear and re sync to engine dj but i’ve sold my gear six month ago . I have an old back up on another drive i will just lost analysed songs ( cue loopps etc ) and have to redo .

So your library on your copmuter is broken / out of sync and we need to repair that.

In your normal music fodler there should be a “Engine Library” and a “Engine Library Backup” folder. The Engine DJ Software normally does Backups on its own, you could try a restore from the normal settings menue. I assume the contents of the backup folder will just get copied to the “normal” folder.

If backups were not activated or if the restore doesn’t improve your situation, take a look at the contents of your usb drive library and let’s compare them to the structure of your PC library.

On your PC you normally got only “Database2” and maybe “Stems” in your Engine Library folder and your music files maybe anywhere and thats allright as they are refenreced in the database.

On your external drive the music files are included there as well sorted in folders as you can see. There is no way to sync from external to engineDJ on the computer, but you can delete your Engine Library folder contents (as it’s broken) and delete your backupfolders as well (because if the backup restore would have worked you don’t have to read this far in this post) and just copy your stick Library folder onto your computer.

I don’t think this is a supported way but I did it one time because I had a similar issue and it worked. If your PC library is fine again, format the usb drive (exFat should do the job) and re-export your library from your PC to your usb. I didn’t dig too deep into the database structure but there may be identifiers which are meant to be unique and if you do this copy from left to right then you got the same database in two places. When you re-format the externl drive and re-export it, you got a PC database and a new usb database which is newly created with the contents of your PC and again the system works as it’s supposed to be. Of course you got your music files in two places on your computer. You might want to clean up the old location. New music can of course be added from any location. You don’t have to follow the strict structure which came from your usb drive.

Best of luck!

OK mate , i Will try this !
