Is the sticking touch on the sc2900 platter fixable?

Hi,

I have an old sc2900 unit that has the issue with the platter touch that sometimes sticks. I suppose it’s an issue with a platter that is slightly loose and causes issues with the capacitance reading of the sensor. I changed the sensitivity but didnt change a thing. Any tips on how to fix this?

Kind regards, Tijs

Start with proper cleaning the surface. Then dry it and switch on. Let it boot up without touching it. Test and see if anything helped.

Hello!

Same problem, other ticket with video:

Solution: Power off, and on.

Cleaning not solution, i have 2 player, same problem randomly. If not used vinyl mode, rarer the problem. (Not vinyl mode: all paused point added new cue point. → NOT TOUCH PROBLEM (touch not sensing in normal (not vinyl) mode, software error!) Flashed again latest firmware, not solution.

The problem very random. After 20 min or after 4-6 hour… My last 3-4 live mix (4-5h long) worked without problem, earlyer home mixing (1-2h) error again.

Have you checked the ground on your electrical?

Do your platters are still in perfect condition? I tried to disasseble the platter but I don’t manage. Mine is a mini bit loose and I would like to reduce this. Electrically it’s just a simple wire running from a pin on the platter to the circuit board. I’ll maybe try to replace the resistor on the circuit board going to the microprocessor. I don’t think it’s a bug in the firmware but more has to do with the capacitance sensing.

What do you mean with the ground? The power chord doesn’t have a ground (like with the sc5000 and 6000). In the unit all cables seem to be fastened well.
