Is it possible to replace the performance pads on the SC prime players? I would like to get some more responsive pads that are easier to press and react quicker to touch
Not possible, you’ll have to upgrade your unit to a more premium product for higher end buttons and dials etc.
Oh he could try switching off quantize , just briefly, as a comparison , which sometimes gives some people the impression that the pads are “slow”
Ahh yeah, good point, i don’t use it so didn’t cross my mind.
Some people add arcade buttons (MIDI Fighter style) to their equipment. You can buy them cheap enough.
Some soldering is needed and making the faceplate tidy would be essential but to skilled people it’s part of the customisation fun.
Wasn’t there a trick to adding a few layers of adhesive tape between the pads and the electronic switches to add more flexibility to the pads?
You can get a similar result by replacing the tact switches with a model that has 1-2mm longer height.
Had a similar experience when I could not find a perfect aftermarket model of a particular tact switch so I took a 1mm higher model which made the button react a bit too fast for my taste.
I would love to be able to adapt the tactile switches used by NI for the Kontrol Z2 pads instead of the original switches of my LC6000. The ones of the Z2 are just perfect, but I have no idea what model they used.
