Is it at all possible to find Android Apps that can interact via Ableton Link with Denon products?

Is it even technically feasible?

For example, like a simulated version of MPC One+

I would also like to better understand what Ableton Link provides? Does it mean that I can control what is on the other device with the SC live controls and visa versa?

Right after posting I found:

And:

Ableton link is just a way of syncing tempo. You can’t control other devices, only make sure they are playing with the same tempo.

You might wonder what the added value is above MIDI sync, well in most cases Ableton Link will be more precise, and it syncs both ways. But it still has its limitations compared to Engines (or Pioneers) native syncing methods, but the latter are not cross platform.

As you can now see from the list of Link apps, Android is rather light on music/production type apps in comparison to iOS (16 vs 185).

Android users are certainly not shy about complaining when a new iOS app comes out, but it seems iOS is just better suited to that kind of app. That and the fact that only Apple make iOS products, whereas there’s a wide spread of Android products, each with OS variations.

Yes, “Remixlive” app can synchronize BPM for free if you using drum machine loops to your engine dj device. Also Remixlive android app can automatically generate your own drums but other existing drum packs are paid

To connect, could I use the same usb cable as I connect to Sorato? But with a usb-c connector? Or do I use a slot that I wohld ordinarily plug a usb thumb drive in?

Or other?

Ableton link works over ethernet, not USB. for mobile devices you could either use a wireless WiFi acces point, or a ethernet to USB-C (ipad, android) or ethernet to lightning (iphone) dongle.

Android is Linux with some stuff wrapped around it.

I don’t see why it would not be.

Quite a few options. Wonder if I could map some things to a bluetooth keyboard, and if that would be beneficial. I will be experimenting.

To get sounds from android tablet use bluetooth on denon or plug in jack cable from android audio output to denon microphone input. So instead using your mic you receive android device signal to your controller input. Don’t use usb for audio, you have already jack output on android

I sucessfully synced my Prime GO with a Teenage Engineering OP-Z via the free G-Stomper Rythm Android’s app . However, I sold the OP-Z many months ago, and planning to buy a MPC Live 2.

Ableton Link just provides tempo sync. Not controlling devices from another ones.

Unfortunately my Android device is too clever for itself and removed the audio jack. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

So USB-C → SC live aux in format probably required then (or bluetooth but worried about latency, also experienced bad connections).

If SC live can control Serato via USB, is there nothing else (maybe I need to develop some midi mappings) that it can control? And in that case if it can do that and get sound out of Serato, I guess it could out of Android.

But then I guess limited to the capabilities of the Android app while SC Live 4 is in computer mode.
