For example, if i bought a Prime 4 new three months ago, then sold it to another individual second-hand, would the remaining nine months of the manufacturer warranty transfer to him? If yes, I’m assuming the second owner would need the receipt / proof of purchase, correct?

(FWIW the official warranty document doesn’t say anything about this. It does mention that 90 day warranty on factory refurb products is not transferable, which may imply that it is for new, non-refurb products, but I’d rather no go on assumptions.)
