Internal SSD 2.5 inch sata drive into a prime 4. WHICH ONE?

Hi all.

I am thinking about investing in the above. I have two questions.

  1. which is the best/most suited drive for speed/performance/durability
  2. what are fellow denon djs thoughts on uploading/updating music to an internal drive?

I welcome your thoughts

I use samsung evo850 ssd. Works good. I use a usb cable from sc6000 to my macbook to upload music. Nothing better for now.

Same samsung 50 evo either 1 or 2 tb I.use a 1 internal and a 2 as a working external drive no issues. Search is a lot quicker on later releases of engine

I am using a 1TB Samsung 870 EVO. Loads and searches fast. For copying data I connect the provided USB 3 cable from my Prime 4 my computer. Copies files fast as well

Answering your points specifically:

  1. I would go for an SSD, for reliability’s sake. I would say one from any decent brand that is big enough should work well
  2. As I mentioned, copying files from my computer to the internal SSD via USB 3 is fast, so no problems there for me.

Hi All,

So I installed a Samsung EVO 870 1 tb to the unit and bought a high speed USB b to USB c lead. The transfer speeds were incredible! From my external harddrive to the prime internal hard drive I transferred 250 gig in about 20 minutes!

Thanks for all your suggestions. This will make updating my library and getting it into the unit a doddle and fast!
