Strange, just tried again in 3.3, and the file date doesn’t change, and new details aren’t present when imported to another library. Can’t find anything in the settings, so quite curious how it works for you and not for me 
What exactly did you change? Which tag, and on what kind of file etc?
Artist, title and label - both MP3 and AIFF files.
