Hello. I became the proud owner of Prime Go+ . I seem to have figured it out completely, but there is one point that needs clarification. I installed Engine DJ on my MacBook, playing tracks in it, they end up in the collection folder. If a controller is connected, these tracks are displayed in it and when you play them on the controller, the track that was played turns green. If I connect a USB stick with music and play tracks from the flash drive, then these tracks that were played are not marked in any way. Question…how can I fix this, or is this how it should be??? And you can refine it with the new firmware if you don’t have this feature now.
If I understand you correctly then tracks played will only turn green after a certain time played (might be 30 seconds continuous) if you turn off the device or remove the usb then all played tracks will be reset.
However you should find your recently played tracks in the history, which should/might be stored on the internal memory (but don’t quote me on that).
The fact that there is a history is certainly is good, but imagine, you’ve been playing for the fifth hour. What do you think would be easier??? Looking at the list of your tracks, seeing a mark on the track that it has already been played, or opening the history and searching for the right track in this large list to understand whether you played it or not, for me it is very inconvenient and a waste of precious time.
Track is considered as played after 30 seconds of continuous playback.
That’s understandable, the question is different, read my post again.
If the tracks are not in the data base, they will not turn green (for example when playing from a folder, not from a playlist). If you just put music in a folder on the usb stick, or directly on the usb stick, without making a playlist and exporting it from the Engine dj, then there is no data base. Denon Prime Go will build new data base, and add tracks that you played. But on the device display if you navigate to FOLDER there is no indication, as this is raw files view, not collection or playlist. To see played tracks, you need to be in the playlist view.
Just so im clear here, are you looking at switching between different sources (your laptop over wifi and the USB drive) and you’re asking for the ‘track played’ marker to be updated on both drives?
Im not sure that is possible, each different drive will likely have its own history folder and they wont be cross compatible.
I suspect you just copied a bunch of MP3S to the stick instead of exporting tracks to it through Engine Dj. The former won’t have a database on the the stick, the latter will. And Engine OS needs this database to store played states and such…
Try to export tracks using Engine DJ, they should turn green now after playing them…
To the guys who answered my question and told me about Engine DJ, thanks for the clarifications, they were very helpful. I figured it out very quickly, and anyway, everything is done very quickly in this program. Thanks again to everyone
