How to fix slow USB and SD cards when ejecting from Engine DJ

Have you had problems ejecting your drives from a Mac, getting warnings about corruption? e.g. you are told the drive is still in use and you can’t eject your drive after syncing with Engine DJ?

I have a tip.

Prevent Spotlight from indexing the SD card or USB stick you use for your Prime equipment.

When your external drive is installed, go to your Mac’s Settings, look for the Spotlight settings and at the bottom of the window should be a button marked “Spotlight Privacy”.

Add your external drive to the list of locations that Spotlight will not index.

Reboot.

Problem solved.

You don’t need to reboot for the spotlight exclusion list to take effect. To reindex any partition, including the OS Volume, one simply needs to add it to the exclusion list and then remove it.
