I would love to be able to hook up a big computer screen to my Prime 4+. Yes i know that the screen we have is considered huge but when im in 4 dec mood and very quick want to see details I would like to have bigger screen as an option. Is there a way? In some dark environment with smoke and strobes its hard to see on the screen.
I doubt any thought to including hardware that projects the screen externally has ever been considered in these units. It would be deemed a wasted expense that would push the price of unit up.
yes but immagine the posibillity to hook up my Mac as usual and mirror the Prime 4+ screen to it.
Given the direction Engine Desktop seems to be going in, i think you may soon be able to use your computer as a performance tool with Engine, it wont replicate the screen however.
As rekordbox does you mean STU-C? I think that would take away some of the time spend behind the decks. That’s not a good thing, I found out that time behind the decks trumps time behind a desktop/laptop. I am more familiar with the prime when prepairing a set on the Prime instead of a computer. Connecting a big screen to a prime takes a way the joy of a standalone.
Yeah i think so Frank, we’ve seen this remote access to the library from the laptop and given the current situation with Alpha/Serato i can see InMusic morphing Engine Desktop into a performance software.
Im with you however, i love the whole workflow of the standalone unit and ive found the GUI, even on my 7" screen to be bright, clear and easy to function, whilst also removing the ‘Serato face’ part of performing. I still get loads of people asking me how im playing music on my Prime 2 at gigs, and equally amazed when i show them the library etc on screen.
well why don’t ya, It’s simple enough to run VDJ in PC mode I mirror my screen to 65" and HDMI for Karaoke honestly I have given up on ever having a stable version Engine, I have yet to play a gig where it does not embarrass me. It’s not standalone for me I always got to put it to a mixer with BT and Have my YT tablet on standby ready to switch on a crash ever hour on the hour it’s short on ram or something.
Crashes every hour….seems legit.
And on the hour too …. Sounds unbelievable
How dedicated are you to wanting to do it? :-p you could see if the onboard SBC has a hdmi header, solder one on, and test if the controller is installed or not.
The ROCKCHIP does support video but IMHO I doubt Denon added another video header.
